Bring useful context into the next conversation.

The problem

Replaying a transcript adds noise. It can also make unfinished work from an old session look like a new instruction.

An explanatory exhibit

Yesterday’s analysis, today’s request

Invented session summaries explain task boundaries. This is not a replay of a real conversation.

  2. 02

    Context sync

  3. 03

The prior reasoning helps answer the current question without replaying every tool call.

Act on an old task

Verify the current request first

A context reference does not authorize resuming yesterday’s unfinished implementation. Current facts also need checking.

What this makes possible

I made a workflow for loading a prior session’s analysis as quiet background while letting the current request define the work.

What I checked

The current Same-Page skill defines analysis-only context loading and fresh verification before action.

Research cut: 14 October 2026. Source areas below are from metaclaude. Private conversation references are retained in the research ledger and are not published here.

Implementation decisions

Same-Page resolves a conversation reference and loads its analysis. Transcript and tool-call expansion are excluded by default, with optional child context when relevant.

The procedure separates remembered context from current facts. It requires checking stale details before acting and keeps the acknowledgment short, so a context sync does not become a second task.

A path through the feature

  1. Reference the previous session

Ask to get on the same page with that session as context.

  2. State today’s request

Use the loaded background to answer the new question. Recheck old paths, versions or runtime details before relying on them.

The small explanatory exhibit uses invented records to describe the mechanism. Separate recordings and working examples carry their own evidence notes.

Recorded history

Dates describe the researched record, rather than today’s deployment.

  1. Using a prior session as context for a new investigation

  2. Same-Page context without reviving stale work
