First proper day by myself in CabInn Apartments
I'll start off with this video where I explain what my basic plan is for the day. I stitched a few videos together just using iMovie so it's not the most professional thing in the world but I wanted to share what I was seeing and experiencing which is the whole point of this blog.
The peanut butter that I bought last week was of the healthy kind that they have here, ie mashed peanuts, but the kind that I am used to in South Africa is full of sugar and probably some kind of palm oil/plastic that just gives it a great texture! So I was surprised that I found some American branded peanut butter in the store, although it was much more expensive than the local peanut butter and I know that I should get used to the healthier kind.
I got back to the hotel and saw that the 'feels like' temperature was -8! I also remember Claus telling me that just beyond my hotel, Fields mall and the offices is Amager Vildtreservat, the Amager nature reserve, so I thought I would take a walk through it and check it out.
I got all layered up which included these new tights that I bought to put underneath my pants for warmth that I bought this morning at Bilka for only 60 kr.
So I put on all the required layers and also my blue K Way scarf which I haven't used in many years. From what I remember I always found it very annoying because it wasn't long enough which was exactly the case. I need to find a scarf that I can wrap around me multiple times especially my nose and mouth for when the cold wind blows.
Anyways I took plenty of video footage during the walk so enjoy the video and my ramblings about what I was seeing and a bit of an insight into my running monologue in my head!
Here are some photos of the signs in case you want to read more (although I am just realizing now as I am uploading them that they are all in Danish)
P.S I am writing a bigger blog post about my first week but it's all kind of a blur and I didn't want it to hold up all my updates from today which was in some ways my first proper day here now that my colleagues have gone back to South Africa so do look out for that soon (hopefully!).
